They are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design process on projects with significant M&E components. This role demands a proactive and organised individual who can manage complex designs, coordinate with various stakeholders, and ensure projects meet all technical and regulatory standards.




Responsibilities

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Lead the design process from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and budgets.
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other consultants to develop and refine design solutions.
- Manage and coordinate the work of the design team, including internal and external resources.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant regulations and standards, particularly in M&E.
- Review and approve design documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Conduct regular design reviews and progress meetings with the project team.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project teams during the construction phase.
- Identify and mitigate design-related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate smooth project delivery.

Candidate requirements

**Qualifications and Experience:**
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a design management role, preferably within a main contracting environment.
- Proven experience managing projects with high M&E content.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and project management tools.
- Ability to work under pressure.
