Our client is a successful & respected top tier construction main contractor that undertake high profile new build, refurbishment & fit-out schemes up to £500m, usually within the retail & commercial sectors with extra emphasis on delivering extremely highly regarded mixed use schemes.
An exciting yet challenging opportunity has arisen for a Site Manager to join their project team based near London Bridge. The project is a high profile mixed use scheme which will regenerate an iconic & highly regarded prestigious area of London to help boost its amenities & its general attractions. The project is complex with a variety of works being carried out such as; multiple new build single & double storey builds with retained facades, party walling & extensions of existing buildings with heavy emphasis on the concrete slabs. A new plant roof will also be installed.
Scope of Works:
The successful candidate will be overseeing a high level of temporary works & ground works as well as being responsible for the erection of 1 single & 1 double storey steel frames & its delivery - shell and core. It is extremely tight with regards to the logistics and the use of the crane so you must have experience of operating within this capacity.
Typical Day to day duties will include (but not limited to):
• You will be responsible for adhering to the construction programme for your areas of work
• Providing weekly progress reports to your Project Manager & Project Director
• Produce short term programmes to suit the trades you'll be managing
• Full management of the designated sub-contractors including coordination
• Be responsible for all aspects of health and safety
• Maintaining quality control procedures
• Liaising with members of the public and consultants
To be considered for this role, you will have a minimum of 7 years management experience for either a tier 1 or 2 contractor. You will have worked on high value shell and core projects where you were responsible for the external works such as management of the Temporary works, ground works, concrete slab, party walls, frame erection & general façade works.
