Salary: £75,000 - £95,000 and package
Title: Health, Safety and Wellbeing Lead


Due to continued growth, there is a need for Health, Safety & Wellbeing Lead to support the business in achieving Health and Safety excellence.


Responsibilities
  • Provide expert Health & Safety advice and coaching to leadership and delivery teams.
  • Identifying, analysing and prioritising H&S risks to the business including the development and management of mitigation plans.
  • Support and carry out risk-based Health and Safety operational assurance within projects.
  • Collaborate with Operational / Construction Directors to deliver cost effective and efficient performance.
  • Set and measure key performance indicators to drive Health & Safety excellence.
  • Facilitate and support leadership team.
  • Lead and support the development of initiatives and best practices in Health, Safety and Wellbeing management.
  • Develop a positive H&S culture throughout the project management team and supply chain.
  • Support the project teams in incident investigation and when necessary, lead on investigations and ensure lessons learned are developed and shared.
  • Support bid teams in tender preparation and subsequent interviews when required.
  • Evaluate Health and Safety requirements for potential new supply chain.
  • Develop and produce H&S performance reports for the business.

Our client is a well-established and reputable Main Contractor who specialises in delivering commercial fit out projects within the £1 million - £10 million range.  Based in Central London, their projects are located all over the City of London and surrounds.  They have a reputation at being the best in this highly competitive market. 


Candidate

Our client is currently seeking to appoint a Health, Safety and Welling Lead who will report into the Managing Director and H&S Director.

Their success is based on open, honest beliefs that focus on their clients, their goals and what constitutes a successful project for them. Their long-term attitude underlines the business - 75% of projects are from repeat clients.

  • Confident and engaging person who is a team player.  
  • Experience of effectively motivating personnel to advance their levels of performance, productivity and professionalism.
  • A strategic thinker who can apply tactical solutions to solve issues when they arise.
  • Strong communicator who can passionately articulate their vision to all stakeholders.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills including presentations and writing of reports, documents, results of inspections and investigations.
  • Proven ability that drives change through communication, persuasion, engagement and innovation.
  • Able to strategic plan to accommodate safety goals and elevating them to a highly reputed status.
  • Comprehensive understanding of CDM, including the Client, PD and PC roles including their application.
  • Skilled at coaching and mentoring employees.
  • Awareness of industry wide health & Safety best practice.

Technical ability:

  • Formal Health & Safety qualification
  • Working towards or achievement of chartered member of IOSH and evidence of CPD relative to current industry best practice.
  • Proficient in incident investigation skills including root cause analysis
  • Qualification in fire risk assessment/fire management (desirable)
