Location - M3 Corridor / Hybrid

CSC Recruitment are currently sourcing for a Quantity Surveyor to work for a medium sized main contractor based in Central London.  The role is offered on a hybrid working basis which is a mix between the office in Mayfair, the site near Egham, Surrey and home.



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost plans and estimates from inception through to project completion.
  • Monitor and control project expenditure to ensure costs remain within budget.
  • Conduct regular cost reviews and prepare detailed reports for senior management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and quality services.
  • Prepare and manage contract documents, including bill of quantities, schedules of works, and valuations.
  • Administer contract changes and manage variations to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and manage any disputes or claims effectively.
  • Conduct regular valuations of ongoing work, assess the value of completed work, and issue payment certificates.
  • Evaluate and certify subcontractor and supplier payments.
  • Identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and prepare contingency plans to address any unforeseen issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of all project costs, variations, and contractual changes.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost reports, forecasts, and final accounts.

This contractor has worked on some of the Capital’s best loved buildings over the last 10 years.  Created relationships with a particular expertise in luxury renovations, listed building restorations and constructing bespoke underground living spaces. They offer turnkey solutions for design and build projects.


Candidate requirements

Education:

  • BSc Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is required.
  • Membership in a professional body such as RICS or CIOB is preferred.

Experience:

  • Extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the super prime residential sector is essential.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing high-value, luxury residential projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal requirements.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Superior communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
