Our client is a well-respected medium sized Main Contractor (Construction) that operate within the Education and healthcare sectors specialising in delivering newbuild, extension and refurb projects.

Our client is looking to recruit a Site Manager (Number 1) to oversee a project based in Thetford. The scope of works includes extension of an existing structure (special needs facility) and a refurbishment of other areas. The construction value is circa £500k

Responsibilities

The Role

As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the overall supervision, coordination, and successful execution of the project. The role is critical in ensuring that the project is completed within budget, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the construction project, ensuring compliance with design specifications, regulations, and safety standards.
• Manage and coordinate on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to optimize productivity and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions as necessary to meet deadlines.
• Conduct regular site inspections, address issues promptly, and ensure quality control measures are implemented throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with the project management team, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and ensure project goals are met.
• Maintain effective communication channels to provide regular updates to stakeholders and address concerns in a timely manner.
• Uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental practices on the construction site.

Candidate requirements

You’ll also have a valid SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid & Enhanced DBS

To be considered for this role, you MUST have newbuild schools experience.
